Approximately 130 artists and craftspersons will converge at Buckman for the 19th annual Buckman Art Show & Sell this weekend: Friday March 6, 5 pm to 9 pm & Saturday March 7, 10 am to 5 pm.
The Buckman Auction is this Friday, February 6th at the Melody Ballroom, 615 S.E. Alder. Donations have been pouring in and we are ready for a great night out to benefit our school. Doors open and Silent Auctions start at 5:30, with live music by Anomalous Quintet. Dinner is at 7:20, followed by the live auction.
Please join us on Friday, January 23 from 6:00-8:00pm for a night of great music and dancing!
Did you know that the Buckman auction is less than a month away?
We hope you will be able to join us tonight when the Buckman Chorus performs downtown at Pioneer Place at 6:00 P.M. Due to the weather, the chorus was unable to perform today at Laurelhurst Village and then downtown at City Hall. A fabulous concert was held in our own Cafetorium for all students instead. Barring drastic changes (again) in the weather, the show is still ON for tonight. Chorus kids should plan to meet at 5:45 at the bottom of the escalators in the older section of the mall. Hope to see you all there.

Indie rock greats James Mercer of The Shins and Stephen Malkmus of The Jicks in rare solo performances, a fabulous art auction, free dessert bar, and hilarious emcees Andrew Dickson and D.J. Tara of KNRK 94.7 FM! A fantastic evening for a fantastic cause—to support our school and its fabulous arts program. All proceeds benefit Buckman!
The 18th annual Buckman Art Show & Sell, April 11 & 12, is Buckman's celebration of art and community featuring the work of 120 Northwest artists, designers, and craftspersons, who show and sell their work to help support the school. Artists donate 30% of their proceeds to the school.
Though final numbers aren't yet in, 2008 event might break record.
Buckman Arts Focus Elementary School offers an exciting arts-integrated learning environment for students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Buckman nurtures the whole child and strives for academic excellence through rich experiences in the visual, movement and dramatic arts. Buckman is open for admission through Portland Public Schools’ transfer process.
